We are a Christian community by students, for students. Lutheran Campus Ministry-Twin Cities is rooted in Word and Sacrament, and lifts up the gifts of our ever changing young adult community. LCM-TC welcomes, gathers, equips, and sends students, trusting that through these young adults, the Spirit is active in transforming the campus and the world. Grounded in Christ’s love and mercy, we value hospitality, service, justice, integrity and curiosity.

Three Expressions of Who We Are

“Be Real. Be Curious. Be Community.”
These are the ways we express and live out our faith on campus.

Many of us experience college life as a place where we’re expected to be someone we’re not. As a child of God, you are loved just as you are, not in spite of your flaws and weakness, but because of them. We know a God that shows up in the midst of our brokenness and offers healing, restoration and forgiveness. Lutheran Campus Ministry – Twin Cities is a place where you can get real about what’s actually going on in your life, and be with other people who are looking to do the same.

It’s okay to ask questions. About your faith. About your life. We understand ourselves as the people of Jacob, who wrestled with God by a river and then received the blessing of God. We take heart in the Apostle Thomas, and the eagerness and earnestness with which he engaged God, and was invited to touch the resurrected One. We trust Jesus when he promised to show up in the midst of us and in the margins of our world, and we expect that we too, will meet God in the most unusual places. Questions are welcome. Doubting is encouraged. We welcome you on this journey of learning what it means to trust the living God in the midst of the uncertainty of our daily lives.

We are a people called together to bear one another’s burdens and to share in one another’s joy. That’s why we are so committed to forming and shaping community. The U is a big place, but through LCM-TC you will get to know some really good and interesting people as we share meals, pick apples, serve the larger community together, go on retreats, and hang out.

We are a queer inclusive community. We welcome all who are seeking God’s love and grace, regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or relationship status. We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstances, or anything that too often divides us. Our unity is in Christ.

We are a ministry of the Lutheran Church ELCA. We are grateful for our local partnerships with the Minneapolis and St. Paul Area Synods and congregations. We especially give thanks for our unique relationships with three congregations on or near to the campus of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities; Grace University Lutheran Church  (Stadium Village), University Lutheran Church of Hope (Dinkytown), and St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church (St. Paul).
