We are a grace-filled, Christ-centered community, welcoming to all University students. That includes you! Your stories and gifts make you the unique person you are and when you show up they shape and form us as a community as well. Whether conservative or liberal, introvert or extrovert, city kid or country kid, engineer or English major, queer or straight, questioning or certain, there’s a place for you here. Though it says “Lutheran” in our name, you don’t have to be Lutheran (or even know anything about church) to get involved. See below for what to expect in our community and the things we value together.

No Experience Necessary

Whether you are brand new to the Christian faith or looking for a new church home having left behind a beloved community of faith, there is a place for you here at LCM-TC. We encourage your questions, we will be shaped by your experiences and stories, and we welcome your talents and skills.

We Value Curiosity

We are curious and this shows up in our worshipping life, small groups, and in our retreats and events. We intentionally make room for a good amount of struggling with scripture and theology. We celebrate and wonder about the way God shows up in creation, and in the human beings that are a part of it. If you stick around long enough, you’ll discover that we are a theologically and politically diverse group. We are energized by the ways our different perspectives and experiences shape our life together.

Come as You Are

pause, our Wednesday night student worship, is quite casual and people wear the same clothes they wore all day. There will be singing, scripture, conversation or storytelling, and a message from Pastor Kate. We share Holy Communion each week, and everyone is welcome to participate. Often our worship includes stations for prayer, reflection, and/or conversation in which participants are invited to visit. If you are new to the tradition and would like to talk to someone about our worship first, please email Pastor Kate

We Are a Queer Inclusive Community

LCM-TC, and each of our partner churches on campus are reconciling churches, and the gifts of Queer folks are witnessed in leadership, and celebrated and integrated into the life of the community. Our unity is in Christ. Learn more about the work of Reconciling Works here.
