Nate Crary – Outreach and Program Director
Nate has served the church in a variety of roles since graduating from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) in 2007, including working as LCM’s musician in 2014-15. Nate has supervised work projects for summer youth mission trips in Juarez, Mexico, worked as a middle and high school outreach youth director with St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church (Mahtomedi, MN), directed summer camp programming with Green Lake Lutheran Ministries (Spicer, MN), and continues to serve as Director of Worship and Music with Christ the King Lutheran Church (New Brighton, MN). Nate also spent a year with his wife, Chelsey, volunteering in global service with the ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program just south of Bethlehem in Palestine. In these different roles, Nate’s passion for connecting with and working alongside young people in the church continues to thrive.
Michael Morris – Musician
Michael is a songwriter, record producer, and, more generally, a person who does whatever is necessary to bring honest art into this world of lies. If he has to have a hometown, he wishes it could be Hogsmeade, but he more or less lives in Northfield, MN because it is the closest thing he can find to Hogsmeade within a convenient driving distance of his family and an airport. If not for those last two details he would split his time between Holden Village and Hollywood. He plays in various bands, most often in the indie folk act Dewi Sant, the country and western group Wesley Church & the Fabulous Vanguards, and and the folk rock collective, Valley Fair. He loves analog sounds, Swedish pop music, Leonard Cohen, Falcon Heights MN, Lutheran theology, and he tries to love Jesus, too.
Bergen Nelson – Intern for Outreach (St. Paul Campus)
The Lutheran church has always seemed to find a way into Bergen’s life, whether it was during his childhood as a Pastor’s kid, directing St. Olaf College’s contemporary student-led worship services, working as a counselor and day camp director at Luther Crest Bible Camp in Alexandria, and most recently serving as a youth minister at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato, Minnesota. Having finally accepted the church’s role in his life, Bergen is currently working towards his Masters of Divinity at Luther Seminary, and is thrilled to be working with LCM Outreach on the St. Paul Campus!. Through LCM, he hopes to bring his passion for service and discussion to collaborate with students in discovering new ways to express the love of Jesus Christ on a university campus while exploring the mysteries of grace. Bergen is a pianist, a runner, a reader of novels, a writer of poetry, an experienced video and board gamer, and an appreciator of all things that have to do with Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Office, music, and jelly beans. He is always willing to talk about faith, the world, or anything, so feel free to contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
