Barbara Lundblad grew up on a farm in Iowa and graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island. After working as a youth director in the Twin Cities for 10 years, she headed east to Yale Divinity School. She served a parish in northern Manhattan for 17 years. For the first six years of that call she was campus pastor at Lehman College in the Bronx and at New York University in Greenwich Village. In 1997 she joined the faculty at Union Theological Seminary and taught preaching there until 2014. She looks forward to getting back into campus ministry — not as paid staff, but as a member of the board for LCM-TC. In July 2014 she and her spouse Nicole Johnson retired to a condo within walking distance of the U of M. Our only regret in moving from NYC is being so far from our son Sam, a grad student at NYU.

Earlier years were devoted to basic biological research, national water policy work and teaching school. Teaching and learning, basic and applied research, public policy and institutional administration, primarily in the sciences, are all career directions that have been interwoven throughout his professional life. While continuing his community involvement through volunteer board work, retirement now allows Jim to spend more time with those he cares deeply about, his wife Susan, his children and grandchildren and to creating new life experiences through new discoveries, travel, fishing, birding and serving the community in new and yet unknown ways.

They greatly enjoy spending time with their family and friends here in the Twin cities and around the globe.
