2016-2017 LCM Staff

LauraLaura Castle – Service, Social Justice & Outreach Intern

Laura recently moved to the Twin Cities after growing up outside of Duluth, MN. The northwoods of MN has her heart, but she is learning to love all that the city has to offer! Laura studied at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and graduated with a degree in Organizational Communication and Religious Studies. After graduation, she moved to South Africa for a year where she served through the Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program. Upon returning to the US, she worked with the Camp Noah program through Lutheran Social Service of MN. These experiences instilled in her a dedication to service and social justice and she is looking forward to sharing this excitement with the LCM community! Laura loves spending time camping, baking, biking and adventuring throughout the city! She also loves a meaningful conversation over a cup of coffee! Feel free to e-mail her at: laura@umnlutheran.org

Untitled design (5)Michael Morris – Musician

Michael is a songwriter, record producer, and, more generally, a person who does whatever is necessary to bring honest art into this world of lies. If he has to have a hometown, he wishes it could be Hogsmeade, but he more or less lives in Northfield, MN because it is the closest thing he can find to Hogsmeade within a convenient driving distance of his family and an airport. If not for those last two details he would split his time between Holden Village and Hollywood. He plays in various bands, most often in the indie folk act Dewi Sant, the country and western group Wesley Church & the Fabulous Vanguards, and and the folk rock collective, Valley Fair. He loves analog sounds, Swedish pop music, Leonard Cohen, Falcon Heights MN, Lutheran theology, and he tries to love Jesus, too.

ben williamsBen Williams – Intern for Outreach (St. Paul Campus)

Ben has moved back to the Twin Cities from Chicago, where he most recently served as a youth director at a Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Illinois. Ben finished his undergraduate studies at Elmhurst College in Theology and Christian Ministries. During his college years, he spent his summer working in various positions at Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp. Currently, he is attending Luther Seminary to earn his Master of Divinity. In his spare time, Ben enjoys being outside hammocking, golfing or biking. When Ben isn’t outside, he is mostly likely fiddling with a guitar or another musical instrument. Ben is excited to get to know a new city and share his passion for ministry with LCM! Feel free to contact him at: ben@umnlutheran.org.
